In episode 102, we chat with Anya Louw from AG Insurance - Soudal. The 23-year-old Tasmanian quickly rose to the Women’s World Tour in 2022 and has established herself as a real captain within the team despite admittedly still learning the ropes herself. Anya and I chatted about her adaption to the European professional lifestyle, what aspects she is doing well, and what she still needs to work on. Anya gives her opinion on what can still be improved in the Women’s World Tour from a sporting perspective, and we even discuss the juicy rumours of current Tour de France champion Demi Vollering and where she might end up in 2025 and if her rumoured 1 million dollar multi-year contract is a good thing for the sport.
Anya is an absolute delight and certainly one to watch at AG Insurance - Soudal in the coming years. Enjoy.

In episode 101, I catch up with Valtteri Bottas & Tiffany Cromwell, the cycling and Formula One power couple. Valtteri, Tiff and I chat about their upcoming gravel race in Finland, Fnld GRVL, which is a part of the GRVL series, including RADL (AUS) and SBT GRVL (US). We chat about how they discovered gravel cycling and how it plays a role in improving their respective road cycling and motorsport careers. We also chatted about the Formula One grid walks and Tiff’s pursuit of running QOMs around the F1 tracks, and we finished with a quick-fire Q&A.

In episode 100, I caught up with the greatest Men’s mountain biker of all time, Nino Schurter. Nino is a 10 (!!) time World Champion in the cross-country discipline and an Olympic gold medalist. At 37 years old, Nino is still a force in the sport, and the likes of Tom Pidcock and Mathieu van der Poel are trying to dethrone him in the MTB world.
In this milestone episode, I chat with Nino about how he stays motivated throughout his career to remain at the top for so long. We discuss his new competitors in Van der Poel and Pidcock and what Nino is doing to lift his game further. Nino details his off-season activities, which, surprisingly, include foiling and what he does to relax during his downtime. We speak about Red Bull’s contribution to the coverage of MTB with drones and fixed cameras leading the way. Amongst many other topics, Nino and I discuss the different types of cross-country circuits and features and what the top-level riders need, to reach the podium or become a World Champion.

In episode 99, I catch up with Australia’s greatest-ever general classification rider, 2011 Tour de France winner and World Champion, Cadel Evans. Cadel begins by explaining the origins of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and explains the difficulties of putting on a bike race in 2024. We then turn our attention to which riders in the modern-day peloton excite Cadel and discuss the likes of Mathieu van der Poel, Pogacar, Pidcock and more. Cadel weighs in on Jai Hindley’s current contract talks and provides insight into what Jai may consider about his future from his own experiences. We then hear about Cadel’s favourite career moments and races to ride. Tour or Giro?

In episode 95, I chat with one of the authorities of sprinting at the top level, Greg Henderson. Greg has raced 17 grand tours and 5 Olympic games and worked closely with Andre Greipel, Mark Cavendish and other world-class sprinters. He is known for his race IQ and now operates as a director sportif in his post-racing career. Greg and I sat down to discuss the current state of play for sprinters in the world tour. Where has this booming sprint field come from? What’s changed in the modern lead-outs? And who is the fastest sprinter of the current crop of fast men in the men’s peloton? We also touch on Kiwi rising stars Laurence Pithie and Ally Wollaston and get Greg’s take on where they can go in their careers.
